A limited-edition series of de- and reconstruction, featuring vintage patches intertwined with in-house sewing. We sourced a small collection of felt-backed, vintage duck embroidered patches and tucked them away, waiting for inspiration and the perfect project to feature them in. And then we found one. Inspired by our favorite 60s lacquered wood wall hangings, our in-house stitcher created a stencil modeled after the classic wood silhouette. We upcycled vintage and secondhand brown corduroy pants, die-cutting the fabric to mimic grain-like qualities and tones of over-shellacked vintage wood decor. Using a method of free-motion embroidery, our stitcher finished the edges of each patch, using alternating thread colors to highlight the nostalgic border of the faux-wood plaque.
